May Reading Wrap-Up
This was a great month for reading! I finished 12 books this month, as I had a little break from school and work, and I travelled this month, giving me time to read a lot more than I normally would! I was obsessed with historical fiction this month, so a good chunk of my reads were historical fiction, specifically fantasy historical fiction by Judy I Lin. Since I read 3 of her works all in 2 weeks. However, I could not stray far from sci-fi, and I finished up some of my school books, so I had a well-rounded month. The books I read this month were:
- Aisle Nine by Ian X. Cho
- The Organization of Information (4th ed.) by Daniel Joudrey and Arlene Taylor
- This Inevitable Ruin by Matt Dinniman
- Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (vol. 3) by Haro Aso
- The Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi
- Redshirts by John Scalzi
- A Magic Steeped In Poison by Judy I. Lin
- A Crane Among Wolves by June Hur
- A Venom Dark and Sweet by Judy I. Lin
- Song of the Six Realms by Judy I. Lin
- Beware of Chicken by CausalFarmer
- A Treachery of Swans by A.B. Poranek
Huge amount of reading, so picking out my favorite was difficult, but in the end, A Crane Among Wolves was my favorite read of this entire month. I am in love with the way June Hur writes her characters and their relationship?? beautiful, gorgeous, heartbreaking, I will never not think about them. I was actually crying over portions of this book. I am on the hunt for a physical copy of this so that I can relive it all over again!
I am working on posting my reviews of each book, but my overall favorites read this month were:
- A Treachery of Swans by A.B. Poranek (4.5 ☆)
- A Magic Steeped In Poison by Judy I. Lin (4.5 ☆)
- The Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi (4.0 ☆)
