About Me!

 Hi everyone! 

My name is Alyssa Bolen, and I am an aspiring academic librarian living in Texas with my wife, dog, and cat. I love science fiction and fantasy, though I enjoy reading and exploring new genres such as mystery, romance, literary fiction, horror, poetry, memoirs, and more. Not only do I have this blog, but I also post on GoodReads and Storygraph and am currently trying to hype myself up enough to post on Instagram. My goal with this blog is to encourage myself to build a community and practice voicing my thoughts on my books so that I start analyzing more and remembering books! In this blog, I will include monthly reviews, content about journaling, some thoughts on the bookish community, and books that I am excited to read! I will also talk about my experience working in a library and my education in library and information science. 

Some more about me: I like journaling, gardening, drinking coffee and tea, trying new music genres, hanging out with my wife and pets, doing puzzles, learning new languages, and, of course, reading. I've loved reading ever since I was young, but I took a huge break with reading while I was in high school and early college. But I got back into it in 2021, and am now building a community that loves reading. I almost became a college English professor before changing tracks to be a librarian, though it comes as no surprise to my friends and family.
